Actually Aya is a singer and actress. She participated in a beauty contest called All-Japan National Young Beautiy Contest. In 1997 she formed a jpop band called Z-1 with Mai Fujiya, Mami Nejiki, and Manami Nishiwaki. But the band didn’t last long and in 2002 she signed with Pony Canyon and started a solo career. As for her acting career, she had her first movie called "Killer of Paraiso" in 1999. And then she starred on several dramas like Ace o Nerae!, Hitonatsu no Papa e, etc…. She had a great break in the 2003 blockbuster Azumi and Azumi 2: Death or Love which is released in 2005.
